Freddie Johnson, Sr. Obituary

Freddie A. Johnson, Sr., 66, of California, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.  He was born May 11, 1952 in Jefferson City, Missouri the son of the late Charles and Helen (Johnson) Johnson.  On March 6, 1973 in California, Missouri he was united in marriage to Carolyn R. (Johnson) Johnson who survives of the home.

 

Other survivors include,

 

Son, Frederick A. Johnson, Jr. of California, MO

 

Daughter, Angela Murphy (Kevin) of TX

 

Three Grandchildren, Genevieve and Myles Murphy, and Harper Johnson

 

A son, Phillip J. Johnson, and two brothers, Michael and Herman Johnson preceded him in death. 

 

Freddie was employed with Carpenter Union #945 for twelve years and then for the MODOT bridge crew for twenty-five years.  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church of California, MO.  He was an avid fisherman and was a friend to all and truly never met a stranger.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of California, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Michael Jackson and Pastor Gordon Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow at the California City Cemetery.

 

Memorials in his name are suggested to the United Methodist Church of California, MO.
